Airbnb.org, the nonprofit arm of Airbnb that gives free emergency housing to people hit by disasters, held its first gala on Wednesday night. Charlize walked the carpet next to Airbnb co-founder Brian Chesky, the Daily Mail reports, in the room with Jessica Alba, Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana, Demi Lovato, Charli XCX and Matthew McConaughey, per Page Six‘s red-carpet gallery.
The dress did the talking. theFashionSpot describes a rich emerald halter with a shiny sequined collar and a matching glossy waistband. Below the waist it’s all fringe, strands that reach the floor and part as she walks, opening high on both sides.

Our read: the green isn’t a random pick. The earrings are emeralds, the collar and the waistband are emerald sequin and gloss, and the caption is a color joke. It’s one idea carried through from the earlobes to the floor, which is why the photos read so cleanly.
Who else showed up, and what they wore
Per the Daily Mail: Jessica Alba went black and one-shouldered, Serena Williams wore a sequined leopard-print dress, and Sienna Miller came in white draped satin with her fiancé, Oli Green. Zoe Saldana wore an oversized black tuxedo with no top underneath, and Demi Lovato skipped the shirt under her suit jacket too. Charli XCX picked olive green with black feather trim. So Charlize wasn’t the only one in green. She was the only one in fringe.
