Rhiannon Lewis is back, and this time she isn’t the only killer in town. Sky dropped the full trailer for Sweetpea Season 2 on Thursday, Oct. 29, with Ella Purnell returning as the wallflower-turned-murderer. “Do you know what? I’m gonna live my truth!” she says in it, and as Deadline points out, her truth usually involves murder. All episodes land on Sky and NOW on Nov. 26 (Where to Watch).
Rhiannon is back and she’s not even pretending anymore. The first full Sweetpea Season 2 trailer has Ella Purnell’s killer on stage in a white halter dress, smiling her way around the Carnsham Gazette and facing a copycat who could expose her. Dark, funny and sexy in 97 seconds, with no nudity, just pure menace.
What happens in Sweetpea Season 2
The new season picks up after the deadly Season 1 finale. Rhiannon is navigating a promotion at the Carnsham Gazette, an “irresistible rebound” and a copycat killer threatening to expose her. As her kill list grows, she has to ask whether her ex AJ was right: is she a monster? (Sky Group, Deadline)
The trailer leans into that double life. One minute she is beaming on a stage in a white halter dress, the next the word “MONSTER” is scrawled across a wall.
Who’s new in the cast
Rish Shah (Overcompensating) joins as Gabriel, Rhiannon’s new love interest. Tamsin Greig plays AJ’s mother, Liv; Taj Atwal is Freya, her formidable new boss at the paper; and Jenny Walser plays new friend Daisy (Deadline). Annabelle Davis also joins as Bella, who works in police administration (Where to Watch). Returning are Jon Pointing, Jeremy Swift, Leah Harvey, Ingrid Oliver, Nitin Ganatra and Alexandra Dowling.
Behind the camera, Selina Lim takes over as lead writer from Kirstie Swain, Ella Jones is lead director and Coky Giedroyc directs episodes 2 to 4. The show is still adapted from C.J. Skuse’s novel, made by See-Saw Films and fanboy with Sky Studios, and Purnell is an executive producer (Sky Group).

The trailer blew up on X
DiscussingFilm’s post of the trailer passed 177,000 views and 5,500 likes within its first hour (DiscussingFilm on X). Pop Base posted it too, at more than 50,000 views (Pop Base on X), after sharing exclusive stills earlier in the evening (Pop Base on X); Deadline added four new images from Starz (Deadline on X). “ella purnell really knows how to play women who make me question my own morals,” one fan replied under Pop Base’s stills.
Season 1 premiered on Sky in October 2024, and Purnell has been juggling it with her other lead role, Lucy MacLean in Prime Video’s Fallout. Starz first teased Season 2 in August with a “killer comeback” teaser and an “early 2027” US date (Starz).
Rhiannon’s hottest Season 1 scenes
She has never been shy on screen in Sweetpea. Three of the clips from her hub:
Here’s the Season 1 scene that made Rhiannon a fan favourite. Ella Purnell leads a guy up to her attic bedroom, pushes him onto the bed and rides him in a black bra under warm lamp light. Sweetpea (2024), hot and a little dangerous, underwear but no full nudity.
Before the promotion, there was the office. Rhiannon struts into the Carnsham Gazette in a pink blouse, mini skirt and boots, finds her colleague shirtless and kisses him like she means it. Ella Purnell in Sweetpea (2024), an underwear-and-heat sex scene with no nudity.
Quiet, moody and very bare. Rhiannon sits topless on the laundry room floor with her knees pulled up beside a pink basket, all bare back and shoulders, before the scene cuts to her at the kitchen hatch. Ella Purnell in Sweetpea (2024), nothing explicit on show.
